From Canada, We road-tripped it to the States to catch their last 2 shows of the US Tour, Our first time ever seeing the Hip out-of-town; Wow. Both shows were Amazing. Our brains were boiled and minds got blasted, what a trip. The energy flowed perpetually throughout the weekend on stage and on ride. Acoustics were great and Setlists were awesome with different gems sung each set.
What a band, What a performance, What a thrill, each and every show. I was in Awe. GD is one-of-eh-kind and the band is like no other. Thank You! and Thank You for a kick-ass website..

HIP Fans are Grateful!!

-Happy New Year Crew!

--Peace, Love, and Grace too
My first outdoor Hip show ... did not disappoint. The walk over to the fairgrounds was cool, but dry. Shortly after it got dark, something nasty blew in off the lake, and it started pissin' down. A nice visual setting to a perfect audio experience.
Pray4Snow

Just before they hit the stage, The rain stopped, the clouds parted, the stars came out and the music surrounded us all. Is there truly any better way to spend a summer night in Canada than listening to The Hip, live, outdoors, with your closest friends, more than a few beers and my favourite of many favourites... Bobcaygeon. Thanks lads, don't ever stop touring.

As a Canadian living in the UK for a year, seeing this concert was amazing, my third time seeing them and I was in shock...the size of the venue was unbelievable, I can only hope to ever see them in a setting like that again. The show was awesome, as was the setlist....basically a good night all around!

Following trips to see The Hip in London (twice at Shepherds Bush & once at Astoria) is was great to see the band more locally. What a venue!! Has to be the best gig I have been to with only a couple of hundred up close to the band. They were excellent (as usual) and I can only hope that they will play this smaller type of venue again. Absolutely amazing!!

Big Band plus Small Venue = 3 Very Excited Fans

I'm English living in Scotland (married to a Canadian)and this was my second live Hip experience. I'm very aware of the magnitude of the band in Canada, however if The Garage is typical of the size of the venue in Glasgow then may the ignorance long continue in Scotland. For my own selfish reasons I absolutely loved last night, it felt like a private party and I feel humbly smug for the opportunity to be at the back of the hall and still see the guys as clear as day. The gig was outstanding, thanks! Oh and Gordon was really quite funny, for a Canadian, lol, I particularly chuckled at the comment "please leave your national flags for tonight and put them down the people behind you can't see ME!"

New and Old

Its only been 15 years or something since I saw you last. I took my friend with me to hear you play in Glasgow last night. He's not an emotive man but you held him, swaying, in the palm of your big collective hand. I liked the new album live better than on the permanent record, the songs still reverberate in my hangover. I stood chatting to Chad at the bar while you guys got a beer and cooled down. He's Ontarian. A copper who married a Dunfermline girl and who now, like so many others, wants to retire to Vancouver. Its no problem he said - "I'm fire arms trained". No, the real problem is that Dunfermline girl doesn't want to leave Dunfermline. I told him to take her on holiday. He was still glum. He was 25 years old. I turned to face the stage when you all reappeared. I was just about to give up counting the Canadians - hoping for your sake that there were a significant number of Scottish fans in the audience but realising that everyone around me, like me, knew all the lyrics to all the old songs. Come on UK, this is HIP. Thank you for your mini rant about nationalism. I've lived over here for about 25 years now but I go HOME every couple of years to compare all my old friends with each other. Every time I go back I see more and more flags. I'd rather wave a pint. Or a lighter - oops, I mean camera. Rock on guys, the world needs the Hip.

Thanks guys for an amazing show. I can't imagine that financially it's really worth coming all the way up to Groningen to play a show but we are as glad as hell you did. Really a great high energy show Gordie.

Hope the pizza and beer on the way to Utrecht hit the spot.
