I have been a Hip fan since grade school. It wasn\'t until grade 9 that I received the album \"Up to Here\" on cassette for Christmas. Played it on my walkman for years until I wore the tape out. On my first major trip our family took the train through the rocky mountains and we spent a couple of weeks in BC. I always wanted to go to the west coast and was eager for the trip. On our first day in Vancouver we were walking through a mall and stopped in at an HMV where I bought \"Up to Here\" on CD. I love listening to music in the car and I couldn\'t wait until I picked up the rental car to play the disc. The next morning I picked up the car and before I pulled out of the parking garage at the depot I opened the CD and began blasting the album as I zigzagged through the streets of Vancouver. I was stopped at a light on Robson St and half way through \"New Orleans is Sinking\". The windows are down and all of a sudden I look to my right and there is a group on the sidewalk bobbing to the song. The bridge of the song comes on and we are just rocking at this light. I never had that happen ever and every time I pull out the CD I recall that moment and smile. Now every time I go on vacation I take the album with me. When we went to Europe last year it was on the IPOD. When I was at a pub in the hotel we stayed in London, I was talking to some locals and we talked about music and when I mentioned I was Canadian, one of the guys at the pub piped up and said he loved the Hip and his favourite song was \"Poets\". Even in the UK, they rock to the Tragically Hip, it\'s so cool to have that touch of home even thousands of miles away. Love your music guys, thanks for the great times!!
