I remember it pretty clearly. I was stationed aboard the USS T. Roosevelt (CVN 71), a nuclear powered aircraft carrier. We were sailing somewhere in the Middle East during Operation Provide Comfort - the deployment that succeeded Desert Storm. Ships that size have their own stores where the crew can purchase everything from uniforms to toiletries to cassettes and CDs. Bored with a pocket of cash, I started buying cassettes of bands I hadn't heard of, but whose covers looked cool. It was then and there that I stumbled across Fully and Completely. I was hooked. The irony in it all is that I discovered the Hip in the Middle East around the same time they were gaining popularity around my hometown - Detroit.
