Amsterdam is a great place, where, as understandable, one tends to get side tracked by the variety of things to keep oneself busy with in Amsterdam. So was the case while myself and my buddy were on exchange there during our third year of university. One day, while flipping through the amsterdam arts paper, we noticed Canada's best band was playing in a few weeks at one of our favourite watering holes in the center of the city. With tickets sold out, we believed it was hopeless we could ever get tickets. We emailed the hip and asked for tickets, but to no availe. Then, I received an email from a guy in Edmonton who had tickets for sale (apparently the Hip had passed on my request to this guy). So, finally we got two tickets. With one more friend from Canada, and a huge Hip fan, we needed to find one more. This proved not to be too hard, as there were lots of people at the venue who were selling. All in all, we were part of the largest congregation of Canadians together at one time in Amsterdam. The show, which was all of our first hip show, was amazing! Especially considering the venue was an old church and only held around 700 people. Great memories to go along with a great time in Amsterdam!
